A new convenience station has opened in Terrell, and it will accept waste and disposable items as well as recycling, Kaufman County announced Tuesday.
The new Terrell station is located at 287 FM 429 and was opened Thursday, Dec. 5. The site is operated by Black Jack Disposal. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
The convenience station will accept household waste, brush, electronics, appliances, tires and household hazardous waste. Residents must pay to dispose of waste with a credit card, check or money order. Cash will not be accepted.
Offered free of charge is recycling of plastic, paper, cardboard and aluminum. The new recycling site is welcome news for residents of Terrell. The former recycling program in Terrell operated by the Kaufman County Environmental Co-op on Airport Road closed down effective Oct. 13.
