DANIEL JACKSON WALLIN
Memorial Services for Daniel Jackson Wallin, 98, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Hardin officiating. Interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Terrell.
Wallin was born in Brazos County, Texas on June 10, 1910 to Ella and Andrew Jackson Wallin and went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 19, 2008 at the Eldorado Retirement Home in Richardson.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Terrell for 51 years. His mother led him to the Lord at an early age as she prayed and read scripture to her seven children. Dan graduated from San Marcos Academy High School in 1933.
In 1938, he graduated from Texas A&M with a major in agriculture. His career began as a vocational agriculture teacher in Giddings High School in 1938. He was employed at the Farm Security Administration (now Farmers Home Administration) until 1943. His agriculture career included living in Tyler, Glen Rose, Hemphill, Lufkin, Brenham, Ennis and Terrell where he retired from the Soil Conservation Service in 1969. In 1970, he began a career in real estate specializing in farm and ranch property.
Wallin is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Pauline, of Richardson; daughters and son-in-law: Sandra and Wyatt Leinart of Lufkin, Letra Majors of Tyler and Dinah Bearden of Plano; grandchildren: Lisa and Tod Six of Farmers Branch, Brad Leinart of Little Rock, Ark., Michael and Sharon Majors of Waco, Michelle Ray of Van Nuys, CA, Shelby and Harold Smith of Plano, and Daniel Bearden of Grapevine; great-grandchildren: Ashley and Andrea Six, Brandon Majors, Madeline, Molly, Andrew and Kyle Majors and Kate and Hudson Smith. The family asks that memorials be made in Mr. Wallin’s name to First Baptist Church of Terrell, 403 N. Catherine, Terrell, TX, 75160.
