Terrell brothers both born June 2
By Geri Thompson news@terrelltribune.com
Two well-known Terrell families have recently welcomed a new grandson. Although that in itself is not unusual, their newest family addition, Kaeden Timothy Furlough, expected around Memorial Day, decided to wait until his brother Kamden’s birthday to arrive.
Kaeden was born on June 2 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, exactly one year after Kamden. Statistically, the odds of the brothers sharing a birth date naturally are about 50,000 to 1.
Interestingly enough, the boys were also very similar in their physical characteristics. Born June 2, 2007, Kamden Gabriel weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces and was 19 and a half inches long. Born June 2, 2008, Kaeden Timothy weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was also 19 and a half inches long.
Parents Kendra and Forrest Furlough, now Forney residents, are both Terrell High School alumni. 1994 and 1995 graduates respectively, they went on to receive degrees from Texas A&M University in College Station. Forrest is a mechanical engineer. Kendra taught in Royse City ISD, but has since decided to stay at home with their two sons.
Maternal grandparents are Oscar and Glenda Hinchen of Terrell. Mr. Hinchen, a 35-year TISD employee, is the maintenance and Custodial Director for the district. Mrs. Hinchen retired from the district in 2004 after teaching for 31 years.
Paternal grandparents are Herman and Gwendolyn Furlough of Terrell. Mr. Furlough was a long-time principal for TISD. The local middle school, serving seventh eighth grades, is named in his honor. Mrs. Furlough taught a total of 31 years. She retired in 1999 after teaching science in Terrell for 29 years.
The brothers are obviously inheriting an admirable legacy from their parents and grandparents in addition to the gift of a shared birthday.
