Terrell police late Wednesday morning responded to a shooting death, and the suspect in the killing remained at large later Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The name of the victim had not been released as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.
At 11:26 a.m., Terrell police were dispatched to the 900 block of S. Frances St. in reference to shots fired. A few seconds later, the call was upgraded to a report of one gunshot victim.
Upon arrival, officers requested additional units for crowd control and a large group was present, according to police.
A male subject was found in the backyard of a residence, and he was deceased. The person has been identified but his name was not released pending all next of kin notifications.
The suspect is known and remained at large. A motive for the shooting was still under investigation, according to police.
