Voters in Kaufman County approved Propositions A and B by comfortable margins during Tuesday’s election.

Proposition A, a plan to issue $104.1 million in bonds to finance major transportations upgrades to Kaufman County, passed 8,634-2,838, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s Office. Proposition B, which calls for improvements to county facilities financed by $50 million in bonds, passed 7,304-4,110.

Voters in nearby Forney OK’d a $623 million package aimed at improving facilities at the Forney Independent School District.

In the state’s constitutional amendments election, Texas voters approved nine of 10 amendments.

Only Proposition 1, which would have allowed elected municipal judges to serve more than on municipality at a time, failed.
