In expectation of coming actions by President Trump and Gov. Greg Abbott, Kaufman County is forming a taskforce to develop a plan for re-opening non-essential businesses throughout the county, according to the office of County Judge Hal Richards.

The taskforce, led by the Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management, will include business owners, local government entities, church leaders and other stakeholders.

The taskforce’s goal is to develop processes and timelines to re-open businesses while ensuring public safety and to present these recommendations to policy makers for approval and implementation.

The taskforce will begin work early next week.
