The 10th annual Kaufman County National Wild Turkey Federation “JAKES Kids in the Outdoors” event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 11501 County Road 346 in Terrell.

JAKES is Juniors Acquiring Knowledge Ethics and Sportsmanship and is geared toward getting children outdoors and it’s for children with can to attitudes and those that need one.

The event is for children ages five to 17 and the cost is $10 for each child. A $10 admission gets a child a NWTF Jake’s Membership, shooting and fishing events, door prizes, hot dog lunch and much more.

The event will include outdoor activities like fishing, archery, bb guns, slingshots, skeet shooting and more. Lunch will be provided and door prizes will be available.
