Terrell residents should beware of a reported scam in which a caller claims to be Capt. Arley Sansom of the Police Department.

The caller tells the party they have outstanding warrants and must pay now or they will be arrested and have to serve 72 hours in jail.

Sansom is not assigned to the warrant division and does not make warrant-related contacts. As an agency, the Terrell Police Department does not call warrant holders and does not accept payments over the phone.

If you get such a phone call from Sansom, it is a scam.

Please report any calls of this nature to the Terrell Police Department at 469 474 2700. This is an open/ active case and police will be investigating the matter.
