The Terrell City Council approved a Terrell CBD Façade Improvement Program Grant totaling $20,000 for Gary and Christina McDaniel’s business, Le Palais Blanc located at 119 East Moore Avenue in Terrell.

The McDaniel’s also submitted two bids for window replacements at their business. The cost of the proposed project for window replacement is $62,340. The property was purchased by the McDaniel’s and they have started renovating the building.

The McDaniel’s were recently approved for a Specific Use Permit at the property to host banquets, meetings, family reunions and other types of gathering events, which is bringing revitalization to the downtown area. They are applying for a façade grant to repair windows, remove the burglar bars, replace soffit, install mounted lights, frames, paint, etc to 119 E Moore.

“This has been a wonderful program for this year as we’ve seen a few of these come through and we hope to see more. We have more back logged right now so we hope to see them come through. Staff is in total agreement with this façade request of $20,000 to improve the aesthetics of the area,” Terrell Municipal Development Director Charles Fenner, said.

Terrell Mayor Rick Carmona thanked the McDaniel’s for their improvements to downtown Terrell.

“I would like to thank the McDaniel’s for their improvements and hopefully we’ll be able to support them in their endeavor,” Carmona said.
