A Crandall woman died as a result of a motorcycle accident on Sunday, July 28.

Dovie Gunn, 66, passed away on Tuesday, July 30.

The Terrell Police Department received a 9-1-1 call of a motorcycle crash in the 500 block of FM 429 North.

Witnesses reported that two motorcycles were southbound. As they were exiting a curve, in the process of passing a slower vehicle, another vehicle came into view headed northbound.

“The first motorcycle a 2018 Indian motorcycle, driven by Gary Gunn, 69, of Crandall, was in the process of passing when he slowed to move back over into the right lane of traffic. The following motorcycle, a 2014 Harley-Davidson, driven by Gunn, 66, also of Crandall, was unable to slow and struck the first motorcycle causing her to lose control and go down. Mrs. Gunn was ejected from the motorcycle and received severe injuries from the crash,” Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom said.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find Mrs. Gunn severely injured. Mrs. Gunn was airlifted to Baylor Hospital in Dallas for treatment.

The Terrell Police Department Accident Investigations Team is currently investigating the crash.
