Film Alley Movie Entertainment Center, a 74,000 square foot entertainment facility with a movie theater located at the northwest corner of FM 148 and Interstate 20 in Terrell, will be opening soon.
Jacob Schulman, Vice President of Schulman Partners, said on Monday, Feb. 18 that he didn’t have a date of when Film Alley will open but said it will open this week.
Film Alley will feature eight dine-in auditoriums with recliner seats showing first-run movies, 24 bowling lanes, 4,500 square feet of arcade attractions with a gift shop, a restaurant called 5S Rock Bar and Grille.
Schulman Theatres, owners of Film Alley Movie Entertainment Center, broke ground on the facility during August 2017.
Jacob Schulman, Vice President of Schulman Partners, said it’s very refreshing to see Film Alley completed.
“It was a long project. It was something that took us a while to put together and with seeing the finished project, we’re very happy. I think it looks great,” Schulman said.
Schulman is a sixth generation of the family involved in the movie business. The Schulman family founded its first theatre in Bryan in 1926.
Schulman Theatres have business locations in Georgetown, Hudson Oaks, Weatherford, Bastrop, Palestine and now Terrell.
“One of the things we look for are towns that have medium sized markets, that are more of like a regional-hub, that way you have traffic coming through from multiple different directions and Terrell hit every single one of those categories. It hit from a demographic draw, as far as population, it hit everyone of our projects. We’re excited to see what it does once we open the doors,” Schulman said.
5S Rock Bar and Grille will produce 90 percent of its menu by scratch according to Schulman.
“We’re going to start out with burgers, pizza and a couple of hand-cut steaks. Then once we’re comfortable with our operation, we’re going to bring on weekly or monthly specials. The intend of 5S Rock Bar and Grille is for it to be its own destination. We take a lot of pride in our food,” Schulman said.
