State officials are not commenting on whether they will pursue criminal action against a Kaufman County insurance agent who was recently stripped of her license and ordered to pay restitution of nearly $200,000 in policy premiums never sent in to insurance companies.

Juliette Kay Tijerina was ordered by Texas Department of Insurance to pay SIG Insurance Services $193,344.04 to reimburse the agency for money it paid in refunds, claims and settlement funds. She was also ordered to pay $2,084 to one individual and $1,225.45 to another as part of the judgment. Meanwhile, state officials stripped the agent of her professional licenses.
