The Terrell City Council approved an amendment to be added to the Trinity Valley Community College Contract for Sale of Real property in regards to the TVCC/Terrell High Science Academy that is located at 1553 State Highway 34 in Terrell.

The City Council and Trinity Valley Community College entered into an agreement to transfer the City owned property on State Highway 34 to TVCC. TVCC has made progress in renovating the facility and has recently requested an amendment to the agreement to allow clarity on the start date on reporting of the TISD Scholarships involved in the transaction.

The buyer will provide 25 scholarships per academic year for ten consecutive years to Terrell High School graduates.

Each scholarship will cover all tuition and fees at Trinity Valley Community College for one academic year. The effective date to begin providing these scholarships will be established by written notice from TVCC to City and buyer shall annually notice City regarding the award and utilization of scholarships.

Terrell High School graduates will be eligible to apply for these scholarships regardless of year of graduation. Priority for awarding the scholarships will be as follows: A. Dual credit students attending TVCC/Terrell Health Science Academy. B. First time student enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program. C. If there are not 25 eligible first time students enrolled in the dual credit TVCC/Terrell Health Science Academy or the Associate Degree Nursing program, the scholarships, the remainder will be prioritized in the following order: 1. Students working on prerequisite courses to enter a health science program. 2. Students in the second year of a health science program 3. Students enrolled in the other health occupations or health related program. 4. Students enrolled in any major.

D. In the event that 25 Terrell High School graduates are not eligible or do not apply in an academic year and thus all scholarships made available by buyer are not awarded, Buyer will be deemed to have complied fully with its obligations for that academic year.
