On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, Sabra Janeneen Velez peacefully departed this life at the age of 59 when her Lord and Savior called her home to release her from the painful suffering brought on by cancer. Raymond, her loving husband of 35 years, her son Philip and several other family members were by her side at her home in Terrell, Texas.
Janeneen was preceded in death by her father, Charles J. Phillips of Springfield, MO, her mother, Darlene Phillips and by two siblings, Frances Maelynn Phillips and Joseph William Phillips, who were originally from Springfield, MO.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Phillips, her son Philip and granddaughter Nevaeh. Her four surviving siblings, Debra & Kerry Stennett, Connie & Guy Grogan, Vickie & Mike Blankenship and Thomas Phillips, all from the Springfield, MO area, share a great love and many joyful memories of their sister Janeneen. Additional surviving family members include numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews in the Springfield-Joplin, MO area as well as across the United States.
Janeneen was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and possessed a passion for horses and equine activities. She was an ardent reader, enjoyed camping and nature, shopping and gifting treasures to those she loved. But most of all she was known for her huge, loving heart and her devotion to family. She was truly a wonderful part of our lives and will remain in our hearts until such time we join her in Heaven.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life honoring Janeneen to be held on the 28th at Lake Tawakoni state park lots #35 and #36.
