Ray Martin

Services for Ray Martin will be held Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2pm at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas with Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 12pm-2pm, prior to service. Ray was born on February 15, 1927 in Fairfield, Texas and entered into eternal rest on July 22, 2019 at the age of 92. Ray graduated from Fairfield High School and from Navarro County Community College with a degree in Real Estate. Serving in the United States Army as a Paratrooper, he was a proud veteran. He was the owner of McAllen Business College and Wagon Wheel Motel in West Tawakoni. His real estate company, Kay and Ray Real Estate, was located in Quinlan, Texas. He received an award for Top Salesperson in Century 21 and was a top producer in DFW area. Ray was a southern gentleman, very giving and had a great work ethic. He was honest, loving, kind and honorable. Ray loved being the HERO. He loved his wife, Kay, his children and grandchildren. He worked hard and he played hard. Ray was a professional poker player and loved thoroughbred horses. He was on the Sheriff’s Posse in Edinburg, Texas. Ray loved animals and enjoyed being with his kids while they were in 4-H. He loved telling stories, reading poetry and traveling. Ray was an exceptional man, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Ray Martin, brothers; Dewy Martin and David Martin and sisters; Mable Dean and Lettie Jo.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kay Martin of Rockwall, daughter Donna Gayle Quintanilla of Irving, daughter Tina Ann Jones of Corpus Christi, extended children; Johnny Ray Capels and wife Renee of Mooresville, NC and Candy Kay Perry of Rockwall, grandchildren; Lisa Roland, Darcy Quintanilla, John Quintanilla and wife Marie, Robert Charles Jones, Jeremy Ray Jones, Jacob Martin Jones and wife Lindsay, Michael Ray Martin Jr. and Selina Biernacki, Matthias Capels, Corey Capels, Sean Anthony Perry, Christopher Michael Perry and Taylor Brooke Perry, great-grandchildren; Jenniffer Clark, Gabrielle Quintanilla, Madelyn Quintanilla, Milania Faith Martin, Maximus Enzo Martin, John Raymond Jr. and Miller Michael Jones, great-great grandchildren; Alyssa and Manuel Mercado, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
