Lou Emma Kelley, 98, returned to her heavenly home on May 18, 2019. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through this life and ultimately gave her peace. Lou was born to the late John and Johnnie Myrtle Bankston Berry, in Clarksville, TX on December 21, 1920.

She worked for Ranger Boot Factory in Terrell until they closed the business and then went to work for Southland Athletic Manufacturing Company where she worked 25 years before retiring. Lou married Earl Kelley on November 12, 1938 and they raised one daughter. Lou was kind and soft spoken, and always made time for her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Rebekah (Enjoyer’s) Sunday School Class.

She is dearly missed by her loved ones who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with the Lord. Lou is survived by her daughter Linda Peters and husband James; her grandson, Joe Don Peters and wife Tricia; great grandchildren, Amber Peters and Travis Bearden and their mother Dorene; one great-great granddaughter, Ansley; two sisters-in-law, Virgie Berry Mangam and Patsy Berry; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends.
