Lusio Carmona Lopez of Terrell, passed away peacefully at his home on October 1, 2020 with family by his side. Lusio was born January 2, 1938 in Matehuala, Mexico to Agapito Carmona and Maria Lopez. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers, Benito Carmona Lopez, Sr. and Ambrosio Carmona Lopez, two sisters, Gabriela Carmona and Simona Guadalupe Lopez Carmona Martinez, niece Alicia Morales and nephew Manuel Martinez Jr. Lusio moved to Terrell from the Rio Grande Valley in the mid-1950’s. After arrival to Terrell he worked at Southwestern Christian College as a janitor for several years. He later worked at an aluminum plant in Rockwall for 17 years then for the Terrell State Hospital for 15 years until he retired. He was a phenomenal self-taught mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. Friends and neighbors would bring their cars to him and many times he would fix the cars for free. Lusio enjoyed spending time outside with his family. He enjoyed reading the bible daily and was a member of the St. John Apostle Catholic Church. He was a shy man with a good heart that worked hard and always provided for his family. Lusio will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Lusio is survived by his wife, Josefina Bernal Lopez whom he married December 28, 1966; his children Armando Jose Carmona of Fort Worth, Gloria Carmona of Terrell, Angela Carmona and husband, Ken Grunden of Mesquite, Alfredo Carmona of Terrell, Diana Carmona of Terrell, Yolanda Main and husband Marc Main of Terrell; grandchildren: Kristi Grunden, Kali Grunden, Vanessa Cadena, Jonathan Cadena, Veronica Cadena, Martin Gonzalez and Marcos Gonzalez; great-grandchildren: Alize Adaline Neri; Nieces: Anita Cruz, Aurora Barrientos, Eva Hernandez, Sylvia Garcia, Elizabeth Jaime, Cynthia Martinez, Belinda Martinez and Judy Martinez; nephews: Benito Carmona Jr., Fernando Carmona, David Carmona, Rick Carmona, and Sister-in-law Maria Carmona, as well as extended family and friends.
