Mary Kathryn Wells Hendrickson was born in Terrell, Tx. on Dec. 8, 1936 to Kathryn Galbraith Wells and Lawrence William Wells, Jr., youngest of three children. She left this world on October 8, 2019. While growing up in Terrell, one of her favorite memories was walking with her grandfather, Harry Galbraith, Editor of the Terrell Tribune "to gather the news". Mary Kay was active in high school playing tennis and drum majorette. She graduated from Terrell High School and went to Oklahoma University where she pledged Delta Gamma sorority. There she met and married Joseph A. Hendrickson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Kay graduated from O.U with a degree in interior design and Joe graduated with a degree in business. They returned to Bartlesville where Joe went into banking and they raised their 2 daughters, Laura and Sidney. A banking move took them to Ardmore, Oklahoma where Kay opened a store with a friend called "Age of Aquarius"; then banking took them to Oklahoma City and Kay went into real estate, both as an agent and property management. Banking took them to Cherokee, Oklahoma where Kay worked with the Chamber of Commerce to make Cherokee into a "Main Street' community. While, there, they remodeled 4 homes. In all the houses they lived, Kay redecorated. She had an artistic eye and saw what could be and could create accordingly. She and Joe moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to retire and be near their daughters. Her first act was to tear all the wall paper off the walls of their retirement home. She never like any wallpaper she didn't put up. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe Hendrickson and daughters, Laura Hendrickson Morris, P.H.D. and Sidney and husband Blake Ogden, grandson Patrick Morris and grand daughter Kate and husband Dominic Logiodice and great grand children Culain, Easton, Eowyn and Alistair.
