Council member Charles Whitaker . . . making plans to watch a lot of college football.

Dr. Junior Osinde and Katie . . . rejoicing over Odin Justin becoming an official member of the family.

Jennifer Garcia . . . coming in to pay her water bill after her check took a little detour to the Tribune.

Terrell Small Business Association members . . . planning a new event, “Welcome Fall, Y’all,” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 28 in Downtown Terrell. The day will include shopping, music and giveaways.

Congratulations to Terrell’s own Reece Norris who was named Junior Artist of the Year at the East Texas Country Music Awards.

Lauren Oakley . . . celebrating her birthday with a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association.

City of Terrell Service Center, 400 Industrial Blvd., hosting a lunch fundraiser for Kaufman County United Way from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 25. Please plan to come enjoy your choice of catfish or chicken breast with all the sides and cookies and iced tea or lemonade for just $8. Take-out orders are welcome. There will also be prizes, raffles and more.  This agency supports the American Red Cross, Kaufman Christian Help Center, Kaufman County Children’s Shelter, the Share Center and many other area service organizations.

Jimmy and Beverly Dunn . . . getting their workout in at the Terrell ExCel Center under the watchful eye of Mayor Pro Tem Grady Simpson.

The French Soiree . . . celebrating their new venue with an open house.

Talana Morris . . . making last-minute plans for this weekend’s BFTS Fly-In at the Terrell Municipal Airport.

Terrell Chamber of Commerce President Carlton Tidwell . . . stopping by City Hall to pick up a few donations for the Terrell Civic Auction.

SWCC President Ervin Seamster . . . dropping in for a visit at City Hall.

Jason Renfroe . . . stopping by City Hall to say “hello” to his former coworkers.

Jennifer Smith and Dennis Hogan . . . among a group of up exercisers up way before the sun to get in their morning workouts.

There was definitely a crowd at Freddy’s for the recent fundraiser for the Terrell ISD Global Leadership Academy. Among the many supporters who attended were Steve and Debi Rogers, Dana and Sherry Skelton, Pete and Daria McNabb and Matt and Tori Lucas. If you missed it, mark your calendars for the next fundraising night on October 8 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Prayers for a quick recovery for Amiee Berry who is recovering from a tonsillectomy.
