It is almost time for Terrell High School varsity football to start its 2019 season.

Terrell will be competing in Class 5A this season after making the jump from Class 4A in 2018. Terrell High School moved back up to Class 5A, Division II after meeting the Class 5A student enrollment requirement of 1,150 to 2,189. Terrell had a student enrollment of 1,197 in 2018, which makes it the ninth smallest Class 5A school.

The UIL placed Terrell in Class 5A-District 8 for football along with Corsicana, Ennis, Forney, Greenville, Kaufman, North Forney, Royse City and Sulphur Springs.

Terrell will play all eight teams in district along with two non-district games.

Terrell’s first non-district game will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 against Hallsville at Terrell Memorial Stadium. Hallsville went 4-6 in and beat Terrell 27-7 in 2018.

Terrell will play Paris at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 in Paris. Paris made it to regionals last season with a 9-3 record. It’s game last season against Terrell was cancelled due to severe weather.

Terrell will play Sulphur Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 at Terrell Memorial Stadium. Sulphur Springs went 6-4 and beat Terrell 42-27 in 2018.

Terrell will play Forney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 in Forney. Forney went 3-7 and lost 24-22 to Terrell in 2018.

Terrell will play Ennis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 at Terrell Memorial Stadium. Ennis went 5-5 and beat Terrell 14-0 in 2018.

Terrell will play Corsicana at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 in Corsicana. Corsicana went 9-3 and beat Terrell 28-0 in 2018.

Terrell will play Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 at Terrell Memorial Stadium. Greenville went 2-7 and beat Terrell 31-17 in 2018.

Terrell will play Kaufman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 in Kaufman. Kaufman went 7-3 and beat Terrell 31-7 in 2018.

Terrell will play North Forney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at Terrell Memorial Stadium. North Forney went 4-6 and beat Terrell 17-6 in 2018.

Terrell will have its bye week Oct. 28 to Nov. 1.

Terrell will play its last game against Royse City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 in Royse City. Royse City went 6-4 and beat Terrell 22-7 in 2018.
