The Terrell High School varsity boys basketball team beat Forney 45-41 in overtime on Tuesday night at Forney High School.

The win puts Terrell at 7-15 overall and 2-5 in district. Terrell comes in at sixth place in district. Lancaster is atop the district standings with a 7-0 record. Poteet is second with a 5-2 record. Kaufman is third with a 4-2 record and North Forney is fourth with a 4-3 record.

Both teams were tied on the scoreboard after each quarter in the game. The score was tied 10-10 after the first quarter, each team scored five points in the second quarter, each team scored 12 points in the third quarter, each team scored seven points in the fourth quarter.

In overtime, Terrell outscored Forney 11-7.

Terrell senior guard Khars Montgomery scored 18 points to lead the game. Terrell senior guard Kenzzell Pipkins scored eight points.

The Terrell High School varsity boys basketball team lost 59-48 to North Forney on Jan. 19 at the Terrell High School Athletics Complex.

It was North Forney’s fourth quarter performance that helped the Falcons earn a victory. Terrell junior guard Je’Kovian Prince scored seven points. Terrell junior forward Khalid Johnson scored four points. Terrell freshman forward Micah McCann scored two points. Terrell senior forward Semaj Willis scored one point. Terrell senior guard Gilberto Hernandez scored one point.

Terrell entered the fourth quarter up 37-36 but North Forney outscored Terrell 23-11 in the fourth quarter.

Both teams played an even game for the first three quarters. Terrell and North Forney were even at 12-12 entering the second quarter. In the second quarter, Terrell outscored North Forney 14-12 to take a 26-24 halftime lead. North Forney outscored Terrell 12-11 in the third quarter.

Terrell senior Odarius Williams led the team in points with 12. Pipkins scored 11 points. Montgomery scored 10 points. Johnson scored eight points. Prince scored three points. Willis scored two points. Hernandez scored two points.
