The Terrell High School varsity volleyball team beat Cross Roads 3-1 on Sept. 6 but lost to Miller Grove 3-0 on Tuesday night at Terrell High School.

Terrell is 9-17 overall with its first district game being placed on Friday, Sept. 13 against West Mesquite at West Mesquite High School.

Against Cross Roads, Terrell won the first set 25-19, lost the second set 20-25, won the third set 25-22 and won the fourth set 25-12.

Senior Chloe Turner led the team in kills with eight, senior Olivia Keto had seven kills and freshman Karyssa Breunig had six kills.

Sophomore Katrina White had six serving aces and senior Shernecia Jackson had three serving aces.

Jackson led the team in digs with 20 while Breunig and Turner each had 11 digs.

Sophomore Kimber Ellis led the team in assists with 26.

Against Miller Grove, the Hornets won in sets of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-8.

Tuner led the team in kills with four. Breunig and Keto each had three kills.

Jackson had 19 digs and Breunig had 14 digs.

Ellis had 11 assists.
