The Terrell Youth Association creates history bringing home multiple Super Bowl rings Saturday, Oct. 27 at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium in Rockwall from Kindergarten to Sixth grade.
The next stop for TYA football is at DKR Texas Memorial Stadium in which three teams qualified for the regionals. TYA league, which was, founded 2015 by President Jabara Booker and staff started the first year with two teams out of seven making it to the Super Bowl.
Fast-forward 2018, six out of seven teams made it to the Super Bowl. Five powered through their competition achieving Super Bowl Championships.
When asked what TYA purpose was for our youth in Terrell, Coach Booker responded, “Our kids IQ for football was just not caught up to where everybody else’s in the league was causing them to fall behind and eventually quit. This is the reason why our numbers are so low on varsity enrollment. We started putting football back into our youth therefore building confidence and fundamentals of the game. Players coming from TYA are now more prepared for middle school competition rather than waiting until 7th grade to begin learning the game,”
President Booker would like to thank the coaches and fans for the support that made this organization what it is today. Game Time: Nov. 10-11 at DKR Texas Memorial Stadium Austin.
