The Terrell High School varsity girls basketball team lost 73-31 to Mesquite Poteet on Friday, Jan. 11 at the Terrell High School Athletics Complex.

The Lady Tigers are 7-18 overall and 0-5 in district.

Poteet is in first place of Class 5A-Region II-District 13 with a 4-0 record. North Forney is in second place with a 5-1 record. Lancaster is in third place with a 3-1 record. Kaufman is in fourth place with a 3-2 record. West Mesquite and Forney is tied for fifth with a 1-4 overall record.

Mesquite Poteet dominated all four quarters as the Pirates outscored Terrell 20-4 in the first quarter and 22-9 in the second quarter to take a 42-13 lead in the halftime. Poteet went on to outscore Terrell 18-10 in the third quarter and 13-8 in the fourth quarter.
