The Aubrey Chaparrals darted out to a 28-6 halftime lead against Terrell and never looked back, as Aubrey cruised to a 49-20 Homecoming win Friday night over the Tigers.

Terrell enjoyed some early momentum in the contest – returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown, but the Tigers’ early 6-0 lead would prove short-lived as Aubrey would reel off 35 unanswered points through the next three quarters.

Any effort by Terrell to climb back into the game was stymied by the Chaparral defense that forced three Terrell punts in the first half. Terrell’s first offensive touchdown of the contest came with less than 5:00 remaining in the third quarter on a 75-yard run by Terrell’s Ta’Nyrious Baker.

The Tigers would add their final score of the night on a 58-yard TD pass from QB Kanye Nix to WR Efrain Gayton with 3:00 remaining in the game.

Aubrey remained undefeated at 4-0 in non-district play, while Terrell dropped to 1-3 on the season.

The Tigers open District 7-4A play Friday when they visit the Wolves of Carrollton Ranchview.
