The 42nd Annual Terrell Chamber of Commerce Civic Auction will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 800 Airport Road. This year’s theme is Happy Birthday Terrell in celebration of The City of Terrell’s Sesquicentennial year..

The City of Terrell, in partnership with The Terrell Chamber of Commerce, will host the second annual Terrell Mural Walk on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023.

The Wills Point Lady Tigers topped the Terrell Lady Tigers in three sets in pre-district action at home Sept. 5.

The Terrell Tigers continued their stellar start to the 2023 season with a big win over their rival Sunnyvale Raiders Sept. 1 at home.

The Terrell Tigers varsity boys’ cross country team competed well at their second meet of the season at the Mineola Yellowjackets Invitational Sept. 1.

diana@terrelltribune.com Commissioners approved purchases for Precinct 4 road equipment totaling over $600,000 Sept. 5 at the county’s regular meeting. Some roads in the precinct have recently received a facelift, however, there are many more to be done and new equipment is needed.

September 9: Kaufman County Community United, in partnership with Terrell ISD, are providing GED classes in Spanish on the second Saturday of every month beginning Sept. 9.

On Aug. 31, 2023, Terrell City Manager Mike Sims issued a memo to Council regarding grandfathered annexations. From my point of view, our annexation goals have been accomplished. I look forward to the challenges of continuing to facilitate the day-to-day needs of the city. My focus will be on improving streets, supporting the Police and Fire Departments, promoting downtown and attracting a hospital. Growth is a challenge for all of us and I am confident our city will manage it well with everyone working together. As I have said before, cities and rural residents have a shared interest in preventing the negative effects of Municipal Utility Districts as they attempt to form large, unregulated new developments in rural Kaufman County. We can and should have a common purpose in managing growth together.”
