PCCS names Graves Teacher of the Week

The Poetry Community Christian School (PCCS) Teacher of the Week is Kimberly Graves. Mrs. Graves began teaching elementary students in 2012 in public school and later enrolled their child at PCCS. It was then that she became interested in Christian education and teaching at PCCS where she started in the Elementary Support Services Dept. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M and a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction in 2016 with Honors; she is also a Barton Dyslexia Interventionist. She especially enjoys teaching the PCCS first graders who are full of energy and curiosity. She and her husband, Cory, have two children and attend Prairie Valley Church in Campbell.

The Northeast Texas Press Association (NETPA) recognized Van Zandt Newspapers L.L.C. with a number of awards during the 98th Annual NETPA Convention’s Better Newspaper Contest held April 25-27 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Granbury.

DAR presents trunk to Terrell teachers

In preparation for America’s upcoming 250th birthday, the local Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) chapter, King’s Fort, has created a traveling trunk for use in Terrell schools. The “Celebrating the Stars & Stripes trunk includes an outline for lesson planning, reproduction items from the 18th century, photos of Colonial dress, activities and games.
