HUNTING ‘NEW’ LAND

This is the time of year when many hunters are moving from one hunting lease to a new one. There are many reasons for changing hunting leases and most veteran hunters understand that unless they own the land they hunt on, there is a good chance they will one day have to leave their hunting grounds and look for another.

The event promotes protecting their most vulnerable citizens, striving for justice for all victims of crime and making Kaufman County a safer place to live. It will help visitors and attendees to learn more about Kaufman County law enforcement and the judicial process.

James Page Champion (known as Jim or Jimmy to friends and family) passed away in San Antonio, Texas, on June 22, 2025, at the age of 82, due to complications from dementia. Jim was born on March 8, 1943, in Terrell, Texas, to Mary Evelyn Page Champion and Melvin Earl Champion.

Capital murder suspect requests change of venue

editor@terrelltribune.com A Kaufman County man accused of capital murder requested his trial be held outside of Kaufman County. Trevor McEuen, 32, is seeking a fair trial for the 2023 murder of his 35-yearold neighbor Aaron Martinez.

NTSB to investigate wreck

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a crash along Interstate 20 in Terrell that killed six people on Saturday, June 28. Agency officials announced June 30 that they will conduct a safety investigation into the multi-vehicle collision, alongside the Texas Department of Public Safety.
