The Daughters of the American Revolution meet on the third Saturday of each month at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Terrell. They recently met on Saturday, June 20 where awards were presented to the club and its members for various projects and recognitions.

It’s summertime and fishing is easy. Maybe I should write the ‘catching’ is easy, for both blue and channel catfish. I just got off the water at Lake Tawakoni with guide Tony Pennebaker and Jeff Rice who produces and is the primary force that drives our weekly TV show “A Sportsman’s Life”.

editor@terrelltribune.com City of Terrell’s Public Information Officer Alison Walker gave a good news report update at the regular city council meeting on Tuesday, June 16. Walker walked through all the positive things for the City of Terrell and its residents dating back to April of this year.

russell@themonitor.net Kaufman County Commissioners’ Court voted June 16 to hire MB Concrete to do work at 15913 U.S. Highway 175 near Cedar Creek Country Club, which is at the highway’s intersection with County Road 4020 and is in Precinct 4 between Kemp and Mabank.

Terrell High School graduate Matthew McNeal has captured one of the biggest honors of his musical career, winning the inaugural JAMBALOO Music Prize and a $20,000 cash award.
