Carolyn Smith passed away on Sept. 7, 2022 with loved ones by her side. She was born on Sept. 27, 1941 in Kaufman County, Texas to Bronson and Virginia Williams.

From childhood Carolyn was a voracious reader, and in adulthood had a special love for English mysteries and American history, especially the Civil War. Her family remembers the many skills she taught herself and excelled at, including calligraphy, cooking, genealogy, and needlework. In her last years she led an active social life in Terrell, participating in bridge clubs and book clubs.

Left to cherish Carolyn’s memory are her children: Shannon Loane and her husband Russell Loane; Clayton Smith; and Michael Smith and his wife Erin Gehner- Smith. She was also deeply loved by her grandchildren Kathleen Loane, Margaret Loane, Alexander Loane, and Stuart Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be sent to the American Heart Association.
