OBITUARY

Funeral services for Lenda Ray Bush, 70, of Terrell, were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Bright Star Baptist Church in Wills Point. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time.

Burial followed at Small Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Lenda passed away on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, in Dallas.

Lenda Ann Ray was born on Dec. 17, 1951, in Midland. She was raised in Abilene where she graduated from Cooper High School. Lenda graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington where she worked as a police officer and pursued a degree in criminal justice. She then attended South Texas College of Law in Houston and obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence.

Lenda was employed as Assistant District Attorney in various counties in Texas. She opened a practice in Terrell, Lenda Bush Attorney at Law, approximately ten years ago. Lenda was a charter member of Bright Star Baptist Church in Wills Point. She loved horseback riding and team roping.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Wayne Ray.

Lenda is survived by her parents, Bill and Faye Wright of Edgewood, TX; brother, Dennis Wayne Ray of Terrell, TX; identical twin sister, Brenda Cates of Addison, TX; nephew, Josh Ray and wife, Wendy; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
