George Lee Purnell

George Lee Purnell, age 91, of Terrell, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 with family at his side. George was born December 27, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to Carl and Lydia Purnell both of whom preceded him in death along with his wife Evelyn Lee Purnell, niece, Doris Hugley, sister, Nanny Hugley and great grandson, Carter Rylan Purnell. George graduated from Sunset High School in Oakcliff, Texas, class of 1947 and studied at the University of North Texas. In 1953 he married the love of his life Evelyn Lee and they were married for 56 years.

Wesley Marvin Fleetwood, Jr.

Body

Wesley Marvin Fleetwood, Jr., Rockwall resident and formerly of Terrell, passed away peacefully on Jan. 27, 2021 with family at his side. Marvin was born on September 3, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA to Wesley, Sr., and Rachel Fleetwood, both of whom preceded him in death. Marvin enlisted, and proudly served, in the US Navy until his honorable discharge in 1957. On November 6, 1955, he married Margaretta Michie in Terrell and together they made their home in Terrell and raised a family until their move to Rockwall.

Darren Layne Levescy

Darren Layne Levescy, 56, of Terrell, TX was called home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 18th, 2021 at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas, TX.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on February 12, 2021, at 11 am. The Service will take place at Compass Christian Church at 2600 Hall Johnson Road in Colleyville, TX in the main sanctuary. Due to the COVID pandemic, social distancing will be observed, and masks will be required.

Deanna Lou Simmons

Deanna Lou Simmons of Terrell, Texas was born on January 3, 1937 in Royse City, Texas to Dean and Opal (Howell) Wester. She went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 19, 2021 at the age of 84. Deanna graduated from Royse City High School in 1955 then moved to Mesquite to raise her family for approximately 30 years then moved to Terrell. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a lover of all pets.

Nona Nan Smith

Nona Nan Smith, lifelong and well known Kaufman resident, passed away on Jan. 11, 2021. Nona was born November 14, 1950 in Kaufman to Floyd and Essie Adair, both of whom preceded her in death along with her sister, Floy Ann Calhoun, brother, George Adair and niece, Kiston Cunningham.

Joyce Lewis

Joyce Lewis, longtime resident of Terrell, passed away peacefully at her home on December 28, 2020, surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on January 4, 2021, at First United Methodist Church, Terrell. Joyce was born on August 4, 1951 to Howard Reinsch and Barbara Lovelett in Enid, Oklahoma. On that day her father earned his pilot wings in the United States Air Force and became the father of twin girls, Joyce and Janet. Her father was a career Air Force Officer and flew B-52s for Strategic Air Command.

Elizabeth Blanche Robinson Mohnkern

Elizabeth Blanche Robinson Mohnkern, of Terrell, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020. Elizabeth was born February 27, 1932 to Jesse H. and Florence B. Robinson in Oil City, Pennsylvania where she lived for many years until the early 1950s. After marrying the love of her life, Leonard Mohnkern, in Oil City, they then moved to Warren, OH, where they began their lives together. She and Len had two beautiful children, Charles and Susan, and in 1968, the family moved to Terrell. Elizabeth began working at E.B.
