Terry Lynn Massey passed away peacefully at his home in Terrell, Texas on April 6, 2025. Terry was born in Terrell, Texas on July 18, 1963 to Terry Eugene Massey and Betty Frances Mayhew. He is preceded in death by his father, Terry Eugene Massey. If you saw Terry around town, you would be sure to recognize him in one of his restored cars that he loved to drive. Anything dealing with cars was a passion for Terry that started way back when he was young when he and his brothers would go to the dirt track with their dad. The drive for cars carried on in Terry’s early life and you could find him elbow deep in a car repair, racing his own late model car at the dirt track at Thunderbird Speedway, and later in his life enjoying his latest hot rod. He really loved his ‘55 Chevrolet and his ‘36 Ford Custom truck, that was RED! Back in his high school days, Terry played baseball and was a great 2nd baseman. He graduated with the class of 1982 from Terrell High School. Terry started out working at a local radiator shop during high school. He continued mechanic work, working for FORD and other shops, until he opened his own muffler shop with a friend. Later, he worked for Madix in Terrell as a welder. When not working on cars, you might find Terry off antique shopping or looking for that next great find of a piece of history to add to his collection. Terry was an active member of the Terrell Car Club and his smile was sure to make any car meet a joyful place. His grin and, back in the day, his outstanding mustache, was a trademark of his personality that will be cherished for generations to come. Those left to carry on Terry’s legacy are his mother, Betty Mayhew and husband Sonny, brothers Jerry Massey and wife Stephanie, and David Massey and wife Tonya. Also left to cherish his memories are his beloved nieces and nephews: Holly Campuzano and husband Michael, Zachary Massey and wife Ashley, April Tawater and husband Josh, Tara Stiles and husband Mark, Sonya Badgley and David Matthew Massey along with 18 great nephews and nieces and one great-great niece on the way. Additionally, Terry had a host of friends, all of whom were very near and dear to his heart including: Johnny Stallings, Sonny Mathis, Hobert Samples and many others, all of whom will miss Terry very much.
