November 18: The Association of Breezy Hill is hosting its first-ever Loretta Hickmon-Gipson Thanksgiving in the Park event Saturday, Nov. 18 at Breezy Hill Park in Terrell at 351 New Hope from 12-4 p.m.
Gov. Greg Abbott, just hours after the Senate initially approved a school voucher measure, said he would add teacher raises and increased public school funding to the ongoing special session agenda if the Texas Legislature passes his voucher plan, the Texas Tribune reported.

Dear Editor: All I wanted was peace of mind within my living space. No drugs being bought, sold, handed off out of the windows of my neighbor’s apartment nor in the parking lot in broad daylight, no off-color verbal threats and clean-living spaces; just to name a few.
In our country, there are entire families who will suffer through a severe issue that eventually severs family relationships for many years. Eventually, someone might tentatively extend an olive branch, and another will cautiously reach out to accept it.

September 9: Kaufman County Community United, in partnership with Terrell ISD, are providing GED classes in Spanish on the second Saturday of every month beginning Sept. 9.
