TFD unveils new brush truck

This week, Terrell Fire Department personnel welcomed the arrival of “Brush 621” - the first such apparatus that has been added to the department’s fleet since 2003. Crews have begun in-service training and expect a “push-in” ceremony before a projected operational date of July 3, just in time for the triple digit temperatures and The truck was funded through a $464,425 grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Fire, Ambulance and Service Truck (FAST) Fund.

Pet adoption center offers deal on large dogs

Now is the best time to add that new furry friend to your family. Currently, all dogs six months or older and over 30 pounds are free to adopt. There is also an up to $250 incentive for fosters for keeping a dog over 30 pounds for three weeks. We are also offering free spay and neuter vouchers to help with pet population control. If you are interested, please reach out to our Kaufman County Pet Adoption Center to receive a spay/neuter voucher.

Bell appointed to Educational Opportunity & Enrichment Select Committee

Representative Keith Bell was appointed to the new House Select Committee on Educational Opportunity & Enrichment Monday afternoon along with 14 other House members. The committee is created to consider issues and matters that broadly affect educational opportunities for K-12 students in Texas.
