1939-2024

Services for Gwendolyn Lee Bircher Furlough, 84, a long-time Terrell resident and TISD educator, are scheduled to begin with a Wake on Sunday, March 3rd from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Warren Chapel UMC (Terrell). Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 4th at 11:00 am, at First United Methodist (Terrell).

Gwendolyn Lee Bircher Furlough was born October 31, 1939 to the parentage of Amos Douglas Bircher and Mose Etta Elizabeth Carter Bircher in Fort Worth, Texas. Since September 2019, she had resided in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Antoinette and Tony Norris, where she was surrounded by family and visiting loved ones. She passed away peacefully, February 24, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, two sisters, two brothers and her husband of 44 years, Herman Furlough, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Felicia McCowan, Antoinette Norris (Tony), Tiffani Rogers (Leon), Forrest Furlough (Kendra), Steven Furlough (Amelia) and stepson Troy Furlough (Raven). Her grandchildren Tiana, Kirsten, Jordan, Justin, Jaren, Dorian, Kamden, Kaeden, Lauren, Aniston and Carter and her great-grandchild Blaike.

She leaves to remember and love her forever two brothers James Bircher (Nina) and Marion Bircher. Her loving sisters-in law and brothers-in-law: Ruby Robertson, Betty Manning, Glenn Furlough (Earline), Keith Furlough (Rebecca), Marva Scott (Sammy Buggs) and Phyllis Standmire (Rriece). As well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues and friends.
