Drivers that routinely travel along County Road 243 between State Highway 205 and County Road 246 will have to find an alternative route for the foreseeable future after the Kaufman County Commissioners Court approved its closure to thru traffic. Commissioners met at the Courthouse Annex in Kaufman Sept. 7 for a public hearing on the closure and a vote on the item that included a large-scale repair effort.
The Terrell Tigers moved one step closer to matching their win total for the entire 2020 season last week, scoring a dominant 40-13 win over the Wilmer-Hutchins Eagles. The Terrell ground game played a key role in the victory, churning out 386 yards and six touchdowns on 36 carries.
