As Americans this week commemorate the sacrifices made by military veterans, a Duncanville man remains focused on a thin slice of the estimated 41 million Americans who have served since the beginning of the republic.
Billie Hair, an Army Airborne Vietnam War veteran, filled a display case at the Hulsey Public Library with memorabilia emblematic of the sacrifices made by American military personnel over the years. Hair is especially focused on MIA/POWs. The display will be at the library through November. HANK MURPHY PHOTO

The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) recognized Terrell EDC and Terrell Chamber of Commerce/CVB, at their annual conference, Thursday, October 14, 2021 with three CEDA Awards. The Community Economic Development Award (CEDA) recognizes exceptional contributions of TEDC member cities toward the economic vitality of their communities and the state of Texas through creativity, leadership, and partnership in the achievement of business retention, business recruitment and community improvement.

Christmas Parade Set for December 11

This year’s Stanley Ballard Senior Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10 a.m. We would like to encourage schools, churches and businesses to participate in this year’s parade. This year’s parade theme is “Christmas Vacation” and the grand marshals will be Mr. John Davidson and Don Ledbetter.

Fighting Tigers Marching Band wraps up super season

Members of the Fighting Tigers band perform last week in Terrell before heading to the UIL Area B marching competition at CH Collins Filed in Denton on Oct. 30. The band failed to advance to state competition but nonetheless had a great marching band season.
