The Terrell Lady Tigers hit the field one final time before the start of playoff action last week, taking on the Farmersville Lady Famers April 22. Farmersville would utilize a fast start to get the better of Terrell, posting a 16-3 win.

The Terrell Police Department is beginning the preparation process for the next Terrell Citizens Police Academy. Community interaction is a crucial part of the Terrell Police Department’s “responsibly aggressive policing” philosophy.

May 1: The Terrell Garden Club will host a meet and greet event from 2-4 p.m. at the Terrell Chamber of Commerce building located at 1314 W. Moore Ave. The club maintains a busy calendar throughout the year, tackling multiple projects, selling plants during the Highway 80 Sale, raising funds for scholarships and presenting a Yard of the Month Award.

Sprinters, relay teams shine at Area

The Terrell Tiger track and field program returned to a familiar place last week, following up a run at the District 13-4A Meet in Sunnyvale April 13-14 with a return trip to the home of the Raiders for the District 13-4A and District 14-4A Area Meet April 21-22. Final team standings in the varsity girls division included Kaufman winning first with 134 points, followed by Terrell with 100 points, Canton with 90 points, Sunnyvale with 64 points, Brownsboro with 63 points, Van with 55 points, Mabank with 29 points, Wills Point with 10 points, Nevada

Tigers wrap district win 4-3 win

The Terrell Tiger baseball program put the finishing touches on District 13-4A play April 22, traveling to Caddo Mills to take on the Foxes. The two teams had met three days prior with Terrell scoring a hard-fought 5-4 win on April 19.

Terrell PD, DEA partner for take back event

On Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. the Terrell Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its 22 opportunity in nine years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

TVFD responds to three-vehicle crash

At 5:19 p.m. Tuesday evening, Terrell volunteer firefighters were dispatched to 16200 Hwy 205 on a vehicle crash. Kaufman County 911 received numerous calls reporting a “huge crash” with 3-6 vehicles involved, injuries, and possible entrapment. Based on the comments and the high-speed nature of the roadway, we requested a second ambulance and placed a helicopter on standby.
