First Presbyterian Church to host seminar

The First Presbyterian Church, located at 834 Griffith Avenue, will be hosting a relationship seminar July 23 from 1-2 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Gowan, LPC. Gowan is the cofounder of D2 Counseling in North Dallas and Plano.

LeTourneau University announces President’s List

Sarah Horan of Terrell was named to the Spring 2022 President’s List at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. The President’s List recognizes students who have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the semester to receive this honor.

UT Tyler recognizes students on Spring 2022 President's Honor Roll

The University of Texas at Tyler announced students who were named to the spring 2022 President's Honor Roll. To qualify for the President's Honor Roll, a student must have completed, in one semester, 12 or more semester hours of undergraduate college-level credit with an "A" in all courses.

Local blood drive set for July 24

Donating blood is an easy, healthy way to help fellow Texans and support the well-being of the local community. People need blood at all hours of every day. They include older adults with age-related health issues, mothers experiencing difficulties during childbirth, auto accident and trauma patients, children with anemia, and many others who depend on an available community blood supply.

The Riter C. Hulsey Public Library’s Terrific Tuesday series played host to Brett Roberts July 5. Roberts performed a magic bubble show for kids and talked to them about the science of how bubbles work. Additionally, attendees were taught techniques on making the best and coolest bubbles. The program was held a the First United Methodist Church in Terrell, and sponsored by Splash Kingdom. Four convicted in 2006 murders

Kaufman County Criminal District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley and the Terrell Police Department announced the convictions of Bianca Newman, Justin Prox, Darrius Hubbard, and Anthony Holliman in the Pizza Hut murders July 6.

TVFD keeps busy over holiday weekend

Fire danger prompts reminder

Despite the implementation of a burn ban in Kaufman and other surrounding counties, fire departments and first responders have been kept busy in recent weeks. In light of the dangerous conditions, Kaufman County officials issued a reminder this week about resources available for mobility-impaired residents.
