Residents living in and around Kaufman can learn about their risk for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and other chronic, serious conditions with affordable screenings by Life Line Screening. The Kaufman Civic Center will host this community event on Aug. 14. The site is located at 607 E Fair St in Kaufman.

1931-2025 July 15, 2025 Madeline 'Matsy' Podruchny McDonald, aged 94 years, passed peacefully at her home in the Hiram Community east ofTerrell, Texas. Madeline’s eldest son was beside her; other family members were traveling.

The Terrell Kiwanis Club donates watermelons to the Terrell State Hospital and local retirement homes annually. This year marks the 50th year.
