Mural Walk, Memorial Ride highlight weekend

The City of Terrell is expected to be a hive of activity over the weekend with two distinct events, the inaugural Terrell Mural Walk and the 13th annual Allied Memorial Remembrance Ride, each set to take place Sept. 17.

Traffic along Interstate 20 was brought to a crawl during the early morning hours September 12 following a vehicle fire that began in a truck hauling two trailers. In a narrative of the incident posted online TVFD officials stated, “At 4:57 a.m., we were dispatched to a vehicle fire on eastbound I-20 between FM 1641 and FM 148.

GABRIEL CABRERA Planning and Zoning Commissioner, City of Terrell During last Thursday’s Planning & Zoning meeting, the board was presented with a 1,100 + acre planned development project consisting of single-family, executive estates, multi-family, research and technology park and highway corridor base zoning. The property is located southeast of Interstate 20, south of CR 305, west of FM 2578 and north of FM 987 and currently resides in the City of Terrell, Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).

Senior tax freeze to go into effect

ALISON WALKER City of Terrell Public Information Officer City of Terrell homeowners ages 65 and older will enjoy an average $255 savings on their FY 22 city property taxes due to a measure approved by Terrell City Council last year. “Food, gas and other necessities have all risen over the last year, so we are hoping this tax discount will help provide some relief from those increased expenses in 2023,” Mayor Rick Carmona said.

Terrell’s success can be found in the volunteers that have spent countless hours behind the scenes selling tickets, booking performers, marketing shows and handling the other day-to-day operations for no pay and little recognition.

Suspect sought following hit and run

Ground game powers Tigers past Raiders

The ground game would prove to be the difference as Terrell outpaced Sunnyvale 418-179 en route to victory.
