Kaufman County, City of Terrell partner to manage growth

Faced with record-setting growth throughout the county, the Kaufman County Commissioners’ Court today entered into a partnership with the City of Terrell that will help manage the ever-increasing demands new developments place on county services.

Students and school officials from across the state showed their support for the Uvalde community this week by donning items of maroon clothing Sept. 6. Uvalde students had not been in the classroom since May 24 when 19 students and two teachers were killed in a shooting incident. Terrell ISD administrators stated, “Our thoughts are with our sister district, Uvalde CISD, as they return to school today. As fellow educators we stand with you, we believe in you, and we send our love. #uvaldestrong”

Fall Cattleman’s Conference set for Sept. 16

STAFF REPORTS During last Thursday’s Planning & Zoning meeting, the board was presented with a 1,100 + acre planned development project consisting of single- family, executive estates, multi-family, research and technology park and highway corridor base zoning. The property is located southeast of Interstate 20, south of CR 305, west of FM 2578 and north of FM 987 and currently resides in the City of Terrell, Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).

Hallsville would ultimately prevail in the contest, doing just enough down the stretch to secure a 44-41 win over the charging Tigers.

Andy has always said that his dad, whom I never had the privilege of meeting, was a fairly mild-mannered easy-going guy. Respected and well-liked in his rural community, a boys’ baseball coach, and a church-goer – seems he had a friendly word for everyone. Even when riled, he wasn’t a man to easily lose control of his temper. Like everyone, he did have one, he just usually kept it pretty well under.
