LOOKING BACK

Body
Continued growth for Terrell, TISD bond push highlight year With another year rapidly winding down and 2023 looming just around the corner, we here at the Terrell Tribune decided to look back at some of the biggest and most talked about local and area stories featured in our pages over the past 12 months. Stories generating the most ink in 2022 included a continued population and industry boom in Kaufman County, multiple bond efforts by the Terrell ISD, a busy summer fire season for local departments and standout performances by local students on the biggest stages.
Area residents flocked to Terrell’s Municipal Airport July 3-4, celebrating Independence Day at the newly revamped FreedomFest. Events kicked off July 3 with live musical performances by rising stars Kaelynn Nikole and A Thousand Horses. The schedule of events stayed full the following night with more music, a hot air balloon glow, food vendors, a flag retirement ceremony and a show stopping fireworks display.
