Some of my most fond childhood memories revolve around squirrel hunting and the great meals my mother prepared after a successful hunt. I remember way back in about 1958 when I was an 8-year-old whippersnapper making what was to be the luckiest shot of my life.
Riter C. Hulsey Public Library celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting of the WINGS: Career & Testing Center located in Terrell’s historic downtown Train Depot (200 South Virginia Street). WINGS: Adult Education Coordinator Lora West had the honor of cutting the ribbon. The library was joined by the Friends of the Library board members, Terrell Mayor Rick Carmona, City Council members Mayrani Valezquez and Donna Renee Anderson, as well as Terrell Chamber of Commerce President Angie Cooper.
October 12: The Lake County Jubilee returns to Terrell with a performance from Greater Vision, a Mark Trammell Quartet Tribute at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center, located at 400 Poetry Road on Saturday, Oct. 12.
“Experimental Airplanes: What Were You Thinking?” is the humorous title of a program to be presented by Rowlett resident, Denis Rottler, on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum, located at 119 Silent Wings Blvd. in Terrell.
1941-2024 Marilyn Dolores Smith, 82, of Wills Point, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024. Marilyn was born October 14, 1941 in Terrell, to Ernest Preston Stout and Theopal Giles Stout.
Terrell Mayor Rick Carmona (right) challenged Kaufman Mayor Jeff Jordan to a bet on the long-standing rivalry - Kaufman vs. Terrell varsity football game. Other county leaders joining in on the challenge were (from left) Kaufman Chamber President Anne Glasscock, Kaufman Superintendent Dr. Joshua Garcia, Terrell Superintendent Dr. Georgeanne Warnock and Terrell Chamber President Angie Cooper. The losers will reportedly have to wear the winners’ jerseys at a future public meeting.
