Luneburg Heath, Germany May 4, 1945 - The German, land, sea and air forces in Northern Germany, Holland and Denmark were surrendered to British Field Marshall Montgomery, seated right, by General Admiral Von Friedeburg, Supreme Commander of the Germany Navy, in an ordinary army tent at the 21st Army Group Head Quarters near this community. This is the second in a series of V-E Day related photos planned by the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two in Europe (1945) and to honor our American, British and Canadian veterans.
