TISD gives update on bus transportation

Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, Terrell ISD won’t be providing transportation for students who live less than two miles from the school. Terrell ISD provides bus transportation for students who live at least two miles from their school or for those who must travel a hazardous route, such as crossing railroads, tracks, or not having sidewalks as determined by the Texas Education Agency Guidelines.

City approves contract for storm debris monitoring

editor@terrelltribune.com The City of Terrell approved a contact with multiple contractors for future storm debris removal at their regular meeting Tuesday, July 30. During their meeting, city council members recommended a bid for a debris monitoring contractor following the FEMA Public Assistance Program and Policy Guide.

In the almost 40 years that I’ve been penning this weekly outdoors column, I’ve written many times about some of the highlights of my life that began as a very rural kid hunting and fishing in North east Texas and later outdoor adventures that ranged from bass fishing in Japan and the wilds of Canada to guiding for elk and bear in the Rocky Mountains.

This floral design class was done at the Hulsey Public Library, in partnership with The Delovely Brand. Live flowers were used to create these stunning floral arrangements. Each person was able to create their own to take home and enjoy.

Kaufman DA Wiley speaks at Terrell Kiwanis

Terrell Kiwanis Club had an enlightening presentation Thursday, July 25 by the esteemed Kaufman County District Attorney Erleigh Wily. She was joined by Lead Investigator Mike Holley and Kaufman County Street Crimes Unit Brian Reed, Xavier Jamison and Gilbert Sanchez. We have 15 gangs in Kaufman County and this team is working hard to change that.
