The 2022 Texas Master Gardener State Conference will be held virtually on the Zoom format May 10-11, with a Leadership Workshop on May 9. The virtual Texas Master Gardener State Conference will present information on horticultural topics as well as address how to enhance community programming.

Robert LaRue will reach a milestone few can dream of Feb. 19, celebrating his 106th birthday. A Colonial Lodge since 2017, LaRue was honored in November 2021 by the city of Oak Ridge with a park named in his honor.

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1191 held its monthly lunch meeting Jan. 11 at the Asian King Buffet in Waxahachie. The guest speaker was Wedding Guy Rob, Rob Nelson, of Waxahachie, and son of NARFE chapter member, Ralph Nelson, who spoke about his career as a professional wedding officiant.

THS cheer earns second place at Nationals

Months of preparation and practicing paid off for the Terrell High School cheerleading team when they placed second in the nation at the FCC Nationals over winter break. The team comprised of 19 young ladies traveled to Orlando, Florida, to compete against some of the most competitive teams across the country and came home with several awards.

TPD seeks public’s assistance

The Terrell Police Department took to social media on Wednesday, asking for the public’s assistance on identifying the person or persons involved in a single-vehicle accident along West Moore Avenue in the early morning hours of Jan. 9.
