The Terrell Fire Department hosted a 25th anniversary ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11 commemorating the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, including the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers and eight paramedics who answered their final call to duty. The ceremony included remarks from Fire Chief Shane LeCroy, Mayor Rick Carmona, Chaplain Gary Weems, Terrell Police Sergeant Mark Moore and Emergency Management Coordinator Dustin Conner. The observance also featured the posting of the colors, the ceremonial ringing of the bell, and the placing of a memorial wreath in honor of the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.
