Billy Jon “Bill” Marshall (83) was reunited with his Lord and Savior on the morning of October 31, 2021.

A soft-spoken man with a servant’s heart, the primary loves of his life were God, his family, and his sweetheart, Patsy Jean (Sparks), to whom he was married for 61 years.

Born in Van Zandt County on November 29, 1937 to CG & HB (Boshears) Marshall, he was a 1957 graduate of Terrell High School who lettered in multiple sports before going on to play football for Henderson County Junior College and Trinity University. He is a member of the Terrell Hall of Fame.

In 1960, he married Patsy (Sparks) with whom he had two sons, Kyle and Stuart. Bill served as coach for their Mesquite PeeWee football teams while as a truck driver and union rep for TOX. Later in life, he started a new career in financial planning, eventually becoming a regional VP for Primerica and collecting many lifelong friends along the way. A faithful servant to the Lord, he spent many years volunteering at Church in the City in Rowlett.

Preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers, Gerald, CG, & Terry), and his sister, Wonita. He is survived by his wife Patsy, sons: Kyle Marshall and wife Vicky, Stuart Marshall; grandchildren: Miranda Parker and husband Bradley, Ashley Marshall, Lacy Marshall, Aaron Marshall and wife Sarah, Taylor Marshall and wife Elise, Melinda Stephan and husband James; great-grandchildren: Asden Marshall Meeks, Josephine Marshall Meeks, Preston Parker, Emersyn Hunter, Dylan Parker, Blakely Marshall, Gracie Marshall, Lane Marshall, and Charlie Stephan; sister-in-law Mary Marshall Highlander and Stella Wheeler of Cody, WY; in addition to much loved extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd at 6:00-8:00pm with a funeral to follow on Thursday, November 4th at 11:00am, both at Max Slayton Funerals in Terrell. He will be interred at Able Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to Alzheimer’s Association and American Diabetes Association.
